Not bad peaceful

We had a nice stay the area was peaceful. Very rustic. Not as clean or up to date as we would have liked it . The pictures are deceiving they show very new clean up to date items . But the furniture and beds were very worn out not comfortable
But overall it was restful and quiet which is what we needed.
Everything was closed around us except the convienance store and the bbq restaurant (which was not good)

Ski Weekend

The house was close to Timberline, it was only 5 minutes away! That was probably the best thing about the house. There is a set of bunk beds and a queen bed in every bedroom. The dining table was big enough to fit a good group of people. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of plates, glasses, etc. The house could have been a little cleaner, the blanket on the couch was covered in dog hair. It was perfectly adequate as a place to come back to after a long day of skiing.

Timberline fun

We loved the place, we would stay here again .We thought it was very clean and not far from ski resorts . The one negative thing is that the T.V. was out we could not get it to work right and did advertise had cable.

Perfect Basecamp

Great cabin for three small families. Easy access to the main road, short walk through the woods to Trout Pond. Nice open layout for socializing and making family meals. No musty or perfume smells, which is important for us. Nice back porch that would be great for hanging out in the summer. Nice wood burner with plenty of dry hardwood provided.

Relaxing stay

As always, we had a very relaxing and comfortable winter vacation! Little Doe is great for kids, convenient to all the winter activities, and had everything we needed. We also like Little Doe in the winter because it is not very far up in the Timberline community which makes it easier for our non 4WD minivan to navigate to in the snow.

Peaceful and nice

One week of peaceful moments enjoying the backyard around the fire pit or the living room for games and reading after our hikes in the parks around. Comfortable house, nothing was missing and everyday life is made easy.

Perfect find for our Family Vacation

Little Doe Lodge was a perfect find for our annual family vacation! The property and available amenities were outstanding, you didn't want for anything! The management company had excellent customer service and was able to replace our outside grill within minutes of my calling. There was plenty of room for 9 of us stay and even gave everyone some alone time if needed.
We were minutes away from Blackwater Falls, plenty of hiking locations and sightseeing areas.
The only thing that was a little rough is the mattresses were very hard to sleep on. They were not very comfortable.
All and all we had an excellent time and will definitely be coming back again!

A Family Thanksgiving
The property management was very helpful, kind and personable. The house was in very good condition, roomy and cozy. It was a great location for our family to meet coming from 3 different locations. We definitely recommend it and will considerstaying again when in the area.

Great Getaway

Little Doe Lodge was a great cabin. Well furnished,clean and well managed. Timberline staff even plowed the driveway. Best of Canaan was a wonderful company to work with. Knowledgeable, friendly staff answered questions and the website is top notch. Well worth a trip to Canaan Valley.

Worked great - convenient - clean

It was a nice cabin. All the rooms are almost the same setup. Beds are a bit hard for our liking. The cabin had all the needed amenities. Staff was very nice and easy to work with. Extremely disappointing that they could take my $1,000 deposit on a moments notice but tell me up to 10-14 days to return it it to me.

We had a wonderful time staying at Little Doe Lodge. It was in a quiet location with a beautiful view from the back deck. Just what we need for some quiet-down time. The kitchen was very well equipped for meal preparation. A wonderful place to stay.

Good for family weekend.

The house has a spacious kitchen and living room which is basic but good for family. There was only a tiny bit of furniture outside on the deck and it was very dirty. The table on the deck was too dirty to use.

What a great experience! From the super accomodating staff helping us with an early arrival in our party combined with a late check-in for the rest of us! Great house close to the slopes - plenty of room for up to 12 without being on top of one another. Thanks for a great weekend on the mountain!

We were given a choice between 3 cabins after there was a plumping failure at the cottage we originally rented. The switch was an upgrade for us and we were not charged more for the larger cabin. It was all handled very professionally and they were quick to make things right with was very appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and would rent from Best of Canaan again!

A wonderful place to rest (and work)

I was visiting Canaan Valley for a conference and stayed in the cabin so that I could bring my dog along for the trip. Great choice! The house was very conveniently located near the gated entrance and it took less than 15 minutes to get to the park. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the kitchen and comfortable space. The deck provided a terrific place to relax and watch the leaves change. The property management company could not be more helpful.
