Bring your bike and peddle on down to Trailhead Coffee or Bright Morning Inn to start the day. In the afternoon explore Blackwater Falls State a stones throw away from your front door. The magnificent falls are spectacular in any season, so be sure to pack the camera. Winter visitors will enjoy the fact that downhill slopes at Canaan Valley and Timberline, cross country trails, ice skating, sled run and tube park attractions are all within 15 minutes of car ! With so many restaurants and local entertainment close at hand it might be hard to stay this well equipped home with cable TV, WIFI and a fireplace will certainly make you consider it.

Wonderful Vacation stay
Had a lovely vaction in Beautiful West Virginia. We were close enough to activities in close proximity to Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley, Deep Creek. Yet still able to enjoy serenity and quietness. Easy access to shopping and restaurants. Many exciting trails to explore as well.

MLK getaway

We rented thru Best of Canaan last year and had a great experience so we decided to try it again this year but a month earlier hoping for more snow. Well we didn't get more snow (there was enough for both downhill and X-country skiing) but we had an equally enjoyable experience. The rental was in Davis, convenient to everything. It was very cute and comfortable; we especially liked the wood burning fireplace which we took advantage of almost every nite. The only downside was that the dishwasher was leaking so we couldn't use it. But that wasn't such a big deal

Wild wonderful relaxing weekend
Cute cabin very close to state park, restaurants and shops in Davis. This was a great place to stay with 2 kids. Kitchen is fully stocked for cooking, beds comfortable, quiet neighbors. We can’t wait to come back.

Nice place for a brief COVID respite
This was a perfect place for our trip as it provided an opportunity to enjoy Canaan Valley without any human contact, ideal for COVID conditions - separate entrance, contactless check-in and check-out. The property is modest but clean, with a real and well-functioning fireplace and big terrace (which we didn't use because of the snowstorm). It's close to the main road, but this was actually a plus as it made it easier to get through snow. There are minor minuses (there is no bathroom downtairs and kitchen has a limited number of glasses or plates and is not too well stocked with utencils, except pots and frying pans - bring your own corkscrew and wine glasses if you're into wine), but generally it is a cozy and nice place at a very reasonable price, and the management company is very friendly.
We appreciate you taking time to write a nice review. Corkscrew & wine glasses are now on our shopping list.

Great Rental

My family and I absolutely loved this rental. It was in a great location very close to Blackwater Falls and the center of Davis. The view of the stars at night was amazing! Inside of the rental was very clean. The only issue we had was the water in the shower got cold very quickly and there is not a railing on the one side of the stairs to prevent falls( mostly concerned for young children). The property was in a small rental community, but this particular rental was very private. The people at the rental company were very helpful and responded very quickly to questions we had. We loved our stay and will definitely try to rent this property again when we come back to Davis!

Great vacation
Overall the place was great. Two of the window cranks were broken, not a huge deal. Well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. Peaceful location. Nice sized deck to enjoy the cool evening. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This is an older property with some maintanence issues. All together, except for the fact that both bathrooms were on second floor, it worked out for us. No AC or large trees to keep property cool during heat of the day but cooled off nicely for sleeping.

Nice get-away lodging

Overall, very satisfactory. Not all baseboard heaters were in working condition. Would have appreciated shades on the bedroom windows; only one of three bedroom windows had a shade or curtains. Rental company pleasant and quick to respond to inquiries.

Good value, great location
The duplex at Pendletonheim 1B isn't fancy, but it was clean and suited our purposes nicely. It was very close to Davis and Blackwater Falls State Park. The mattresses were actually quite comfortable; however, a larger mattress in one bedroom would have been nice. We were pleased with the value and very happy with the management company.

Canaan condo

well-kept small condo, cozy for two or four. kitchen well-stocked (an more complete list of kitchen items would be helpful), easy for home-made meals. location is great, close to Blackwater Falls, White Grass and other ski areas. Roadways and driveways were promptly plowed after the area received over a foot of snow. Enjoyed our stay!

Great time for a reasonable price
Very clean and comfortable. Rental company was very helpful and flexible. Bathrooms are both upstairs. Location was great. A good property for a very reasonable price. We would stay here again anytime.

Condo in good location. Wifi was very nice. laundry nice frature too. The furniture was awful. Rental needs a good cleaning. Rental co good to deal with. Altho, Needs to have some manner of contact after hrs due to emergency situation. (wrong key or property issues). Would rent from this co again, just not this condo.

Great Trip to Davis, WV
The unit was perfect for us two. Very clean and very quiet! It was close to many of the attractions. We did alot of exploring around the area- caverns,train ride,etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
