Grand OIe' Apres*

We have stayed in this home many, many times. This is a large home with lots of space for large groups. it also has a very good location off of Salamander "green trail". Best Of Canaan is always friendly and professional as a management group. All in all this is a great vacation home. The only things I woudl point out is that there is a hill that you neded to walk up to get to the slopes and it can be a little tough with tiny children or elderly. other than that the couches need to be replaced, badly. they are worn and pretty bad and look 20 + years old. other than this it is a great house for big groups and shoudl be enjoyed by many.

We had a great ski experience at this house. Salamander is just across the street but you do have to climb up a hill to the slope. We had minor maintenance issues with the basement heat and upstairs toilet, and the furniture is worn, but overall it's a good place.

Great location close to the slopes. Great house layout for multiple families. But overall, needs a thorough cleaning. Furniture needs updating, specifically couches, are gross. Dryer took three to four cycles to dry anything. So plan on hours for a load. The first three days we froze, like couldn't get the house temperature out of the 50s. On day three we had no hot water, they came and fixed and whatever the issue was was affecting the heat as well.

We wish we could have stayed longer, it was lovely in the WV mountains. The weather could not have been better. There is so much to see and do in the area; we are ready to go back.

Wonderful home. Clean, plenty of room for everyone.

The place was nearly perfect. If I had to complain, it would be 2 things. Pots and pans in the house are not adequate for cooking for 16 people. 2 we couldn't find thermostats (but we were comfortable for the most part). That's it! very short complaint list. Now on to the good stuff. Great open main area, great bedrooms/bathrooms, parking for 5 vehicles even (with the use of the attached garage). The best part is the easy walk to the green run across the gravel road. It is hard to put a dollar figure on the convenience of being able to take a break at your house instead of at the lodge.

We had a family gathering to celebrate my Dad's 90th birthday. The house was fantastic. The accommodations were great. It needs a new Guest Book so current people can sign it. The furniture is a little worn but it didn't matter. The location is great! We loved it and had a wonderful time.

Great stay for the perfect winter getaway.

Truly a beautiful spacious home for your party of 16 plus room to spread. This home is really 20 steps to the Lower Salamander Trail. Our family stayed here from January 3 to January 10, 2022. A few items that we feel need attention are:

- Furniture in the main and media room is dated, old and in some areas dirty and uninviting to sit on.
- Fireplace was not in proper working order with the necessary tools required to keep it going.
- The grille is old and lid is falling apart. There are not proper grilling utensils provided. We were able to use it several times and still cooked to perfection nonetheless.
- Cooking utensils in kitchen as well as pots and pans need to be refreshed or replaced. (Perhaps a few more pots and pans?)
- TV on the main floor is on its last stretch and was lacking batteries in the control. They were promptly replaced.
- Poor lighting in bedrooms.
- More towels need to be provided for this size of home and clearly located in a main closet or in each bedroom.
- No working lights in the ovens.
- The pool table needs a good repair to bumps and mat. During our stay we had to request new cues because they were all broken. They were promptly replaced.
- Overall the house did not feel very clean. We arrived and made a few loads on the dishwasher.

We also have a recommendations to make this property a real gem.
- Ice making capacity for this size of home is minimal. We suggest an stand alone ice maker as it was not able to keep up with the demand. We went out a couple of times to get ice.

Overall the home is incredible, and very well located. We loved our stay at Grand Ole Apres but attention to these details should be considered. Best of Canaan Realty was very courteous and responded quickly to our needs during our stay. We will definitively consider renting this home again for our family winter gatherings.
