Maple Lodge*

We rented Maple Lodge for a week (12/25-1/1). Check-in a breeze and our family enjoyed the house. The beds and sofa were comfortable and the kids loved the air hockey table. The location of the air hockey table does make watching anything hard, but that’s what closed captioning is for. The house about a 2-minute drive to Tline or just over a half mile walk.

After unpacking the car, we took bags to the different rooms and discovered the one bedroom did not have a bunk bed with a double bed in it. Instead it was two twin beds, so instead of sleeping 8, the current setup sleeps 7. Thankfully, we brought a blowup mattress so my son did have a place to sleep. The kids were excited for the hot tub but unfortunately, it was not working. I called the maintenance phone number to leave a message, but even though it was a holiday, they answered. I told them about the problem and maintenance was out there to fix it the next day. The fixed lasted through the night, but by morning, it was broken again. I called again to let them know and maintenance was out there to fix the problem that day. Upon returning from the slopes, we had a functioning hot tub.

Two days into the ski trip, the skies opened and it poured on us. We went to use the gas dryer and no matter what setting we tried, it wouldn’t get hot. I called the maintenance line again to let them know and fortunately, the appliance guy was in the valley that day. He stopped by while we were skiing and upon our return, the dryer did get warm. That lasted 2 cycles and then we couldn’t get the dryer to work. I called the maintenance line again and they told us what setting the maintenance guy used but we couldn’t get it to work. We stopped trying and hung clothing everywhere to get them to dry.

Overall, we enjoyed the house and I would stay here again. Best of Canaan was great to deal with and I would book through them again in the future.

We timed our stay perfectly with 11 inches of snow in early March 2023. The location was right at Timberline ski resort with a 4 min drive to the ski lift. The hot tub and air hockey was a lot of fun. The house was very clean when we arrived.

The location of this property is fantastic - with easy access to both white grass and timberline! The house was as described and we very much enjoyed the hot tub right off the deck! A few small upgrades would make this house great - the TVs were outdated and small - especially for the living room. There wasn't enough seating to accommodate everyone in the living room (8 adults). Finally, the "kids" room would benefit from upgraded beds that could be used by kids or adults.

.my dog loved it!!!! My only complaint was fireplace was broken. We did tell property manager but no one came to fix it.

Great location to Timberline and Canaan Valley, but does need some updating on the inside. Sleeps 8 but living area only has seating for 4 so other guests had to sit on dining chairs. Cable and WIFI were great for relaxing in the evenings. Check in and check out went smoothly.

This was our 6th or 7th winter stay at Maple Lodge over the past 14 years, 12 if we take away Covid-19. From our very first visit, Maple Lodge has always felt like home. Nothing has really changed which makes it all the more appealing! Our son learned to ski at Timberline, we all cross country skied from the front door to Dolly Sods and Whitegrass Cross County Ski area. Maple Lodge is convenient to everything in the Canaan Valley!

Maple Lodge and the Canaan Valley are held very dear to us and we welcome the opportunity to visit again very soon!

Great house! Lovely neighborhood. Very close to great hiking trails. The house was very clean, the kitchen well equipped. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the house.

Loved this house. Didn’t want to leave. Had issue with grill, and was immediately fixed. Kitchen well stocked.

We really enjoyed our stay! Highly recommend this rental. Kitchen was well stocked. House layout was also perfect for our family & our pup. Only issue was the landlines didn't work. Not sure if phone's need replaced or what but no cell service with our provider (Verizon) and couldn't contact property office when we had a question. We figured it out but might want to address that.

The house worked out wonderfully. Really loves having the exterior entrance to the laundry room to unload ski gear into without tracking in house.

Amazing time, lady at the office was beyond helpful. Hot tub needed a little attention we messaged her she had the hot tub man at the house before days end. He too was very nice and a pleasure to speak with. We will definitely be using this rental again.

Everywhere a small group of us go somewhere different to just relax and catch up. This place was perfect. The dog loved it we loved it. Maple Lodge is in a great location. Close to everything you want to do in the fall, mountain biking, hiking all that. I’m sure in the winter it’s even better with skiing.

A great layout. Perfect location. Easy to get to. Clean.

House was stocked to meet all our needs. Beautiful place to spend a relaxing weekend
