Time to unwind
The was perfect for our party. The adults spent the majority of the time in the main living area, while the kids bounced between the loft area and the recreation room.
The fireplace was my favorite part of the house! Nothing like the crackle of wood while watching the snow fall outside.
The kitchen was well-stocked (including spices!), and it's central location made it a joy to cook while interacting with everyone.
The enclosed porch would have been great during warmer months (maybe put a wood stove out there for the winter?!), and the house was decorated for the holidays. There were also plenty of extra pillows and blankets for all. Thumbs up for good quality pillows!
The kids also enjoyed the sleds in the garage.
The driveway is a switchback and proved difficult to maneuver with 2-3 inches of snow on the ground, so 4x4 is a must in winter! Though, they did provide several snow shovels in the garage that I should have taken advantage of.
Overall, great property and great value! Thanks for the memories!

Winter Getaway

We've been going to Canaan Valley for vacations over 25 years. We have rented many different properties and Eagles View has been one the best we rented. Any issues were quickly resolved, i.e.needed firewood. Well appointted, great game room. Will definitely rent again. Thanks

Good spot, decent but not perfect house
We had a long holiday weekend at Eagles View this summer. For our group, the main appeal of this area is having backdoor access to the trail network in the Dolly Sods and being able to gather together in the evening in a cozy indoor and outdoor space. From that standpoint this house was very good.
Overall the house is well appointed. The sleeping arrangements were fine and the screen options for TV/movies were good. Internet was fast. The kitchen had plenty of implements for cooking large group meals and the grill worked well. However, some of the furniture is old.
If you like apocalyptic Christian fiction the library options are definitely for you!
BoC was able to quickly respond on Sunday PM to an issue with the hot tub, getting it back into useful condition.

Wonderful, restful and a great place for family to gather

I thank God for leading me to Eagle View. It lacked nothing for my family of 8. Everyone was comfortable and entertained, even when "staying at home". I thank the owners for making this a great place.

Nice house
The house was nice and had plenty of room for 10. It could use a good cleaning and maintenance (silverware drawer was gross and things like baseboards). Only 2 burners work on the stove making it tricky for cooking for 10 and the wall heaters in the basement bedrooms are REALLY loud making it hard to sleep. Also the master bedroom shower drips making it hard to sleep as well. Aside from those minor things that could easily be fixed we had a wonderful time.

We had a wonderful long week end stay at the property. Every thing was as promised, with the Master BR a real plus. Also useful were the labels on the cabinets and light fixtures. Game room and hot tub also provided much enjoyment. Looking forward to another visit.

Perfectly Peaceful

We rented this beautiful place to gather our whole family and it was PERFECT! I particularly loved the huge table that we could all gather around for meals. The game room was perfect for a little family competition. My grandson really enjoyed exploring the "big house" and fishing in the nearby ponds. We explored so much while we were there from the caverns to hiking Seneca. Will keep this house saved for future visits!! Loved it!

Winter Escape

Great Birthday Weekend!
The cabin was great! It was clean and well care for with plenty of games to keep the 2 3 year old girls and 3 10 year old girls busy and happy! The adults enjoyed the hot tub once the kids were asleep!

Almost Heaven
What a wonderful place to stay. Quiet and peaceful the entire time. Great views of wildlife and the stars. Would definitely stay again. Everything was wonderful. Only thing I’d change is maybe a little weed eating needed done around the house. The grass was tall and there were concerns of snakes with the children. Looking forward to my next stay hopefully soon.
