Welcome to Cedar Creek, a luxurious and unique slope-front custom-built vacation home, with the finest Ski-in/Ski-out access on the Winterset ski trail, at the all-new Timberline Mountain resort. Comfortable for work and for play for all ages, Cedar Creek offers 7 bedrooms and 8.5 baths, and 2 additional built-in bunks adjacent to the pool table area. All linens provided from professional linen service. Dual-zone gas heat and central A/C. Electronic amenities include broadband WiFi and flat screen TV’s in living spaces and all 7 bedrooms. Both living room TV's are smart-streaming Samsung Crystal 4K UHDs, with free Samsung TV Plus channel and ability to access your Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, or other subscription streaming services. Convenient theater room TV connected to cable and equipped with DVD player, movie collection, and convenient HDMI port for use with your gaming systems. Every bedroom TV is connected to basic cable TV. There is plenty of room to spread out with 2 living room areas, each equipped with a gas fireplace, plus a theater/TV room. The spacious kitchen, bar, and dining area will make mealtime a pleasure and with 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers, storage and clean-up are a snap. Gather on the outside deck for charcoal grilling, outdoor eating, relaxing in the 7-person hot tub, viewing gorgeous sunsets, or stargazing under the brilliant night sky. Enjoy the flat grassy outdoor area with picnic table, chairs, swinging glider, and a perfect cornhole pitch. No matter when you plan to be our guest, you’ll never be bored as you enjoy all that the Canaan Valley has to offer, featuring the under-new-ownership Timberline Mountain Resort, Canaan Valley and Blackwater Falls State Parks, Dolly Sods, and the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing, tubing and sledding parks, ice skating; golfing, hiking, biking, and horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking, breweries and distilleries, and just pure R&R. Family Reunion
My family gathers in the Canaan Valley area each summer renting 2-3 homes. This home has been one of our mainstays because the number of bedrooms and a large kitchen dining area. The home is clean and updated. The deck has a picnic table as well as many chairs to allow for other seating options while eating meals. The deck is a great place to gather in the evening and enjoy the cool night air. Overall a nice place to stay if you have a large group.

It’s a great house. Perfect for 7 or 8 golfers. We have probably rented this house 8-10 times over the past 6 or 7 years. However, recent price increases have been fairly dramatic. We decided to not to rent again this coming Aug/Sept. Also, one criticism I would offer: you really need a couple of umbrellas or other shade protect on the back deck. It can get really hot and sunny out there.

Winterset Perfection

Well appointed, plenty of space to chill. Every bedroom as a full bath and hot tub was spacious. Kitchen was fine, oven looks old however and no pantry (baker's rack was sufficient but was overflowing). Plenty of pots/pans and 2 dishwashers did come in handy. Great ski-in/ski-out with ski mud room and undercover patio as you come off the slopes.

We’ve rented this house at least 10 years. Perfect for large families like us. We have at least 5 families traveling from Georgia to stay at this house. It seats 20 for meals and plenty of seating in living room. There is usually a jump built behind the house for skiers to jump and is fun to watch.

Epic Family Vacation!

We had an amazing time at this rental! Our group consisted of a wide range of ages and we all had an absolutely fantastic time! Grandparents, parents, kids young and old. Some took full advantage of simply stepping outside to ski, all of us enjoyed the hot tub, and the pool table and large sofas made everyone comfortable inside. The house was large with plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, two washer and dryers and a fully stocked kitchen. The management company was quick to respond whenever we needed anything. We will definitely look to stay here again if we are back in West Virginia!

A Fabulous House for A Big Group!

This is not our first trip to Timberline, but it was our first time at Cedar Creek. The house is perfect for a big group.
1. This house can fit all the occupants in the eating area for meal times. Many of the other houses with this many bedrooms have small or disjointed seating. We can squeeze 12 people at the dining room table, and more at the close bar.
2. Each bedroom has it's own en suite bathroom. They are all almost identical in size and layout, so there was no arguing over who got the best room! As the primary guest, I did pick the room with the best view!
3. Most of the beds were kings. This was a huge plus for our family.
4. The sofas in each living area were big enough for all of us to relax and watch a movie together. The last house we rented only had seating for 6-8 people in the living room
5. The house was one of the best appointed we have rented. There were supplies galore for everything we wanted to cook. There was nothing we needed that was not in a kitchen drawer or cabinet. 2 coffee makers plus a keurig, and 2 dishwashers are life changing. 2 washers and 2 dryers, and a big mud room in the basement. The pool table was great.
6. The hot tub was HOT! Even when it was in the single digits at night, the water was perfect!
7. The open upper floors were noisy, but the downstairs was super quiet for our little ones, even when there was some late night festivities in the kitchen.
The only cons I have are insignificant. There is not a big trash can for a large group. We brought extra garbage bags and made trips to the dumpster. Another house left their trash outside and the critters got into the trash.
I wish we brought more dishwasher soap, large trash bags, and paper towels.

We have rented this cottage for many, many years for a huge family get-together. Our family treats this as our own, and have come to love this place!!! Cousin trip in the mountains

I brought a group of 11 cousins to Cedar Creek for a much needed cousin reunion. The house was perfect! Clean and inviting. Each bedroom having it's own bath was a real plus!
We spent our days exploring Elakala, Blackwater and Douglas Falls. Lunching at Sirianni's and Hellbenders. Shopping in Davis and Thomas and stopping at The Ice Cream Shop. Evenings were spent relaxing on the large deck.Cooking up some great meals.Playing cards and shooting pool. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars was amazing!
We plan on renting this house again next year!

Great for a group.
Our family, aged 2-78, enjoyed this property very much. All bedrooms have private bedrooms so folks could set their own schedules. Two open areas provided a choice of activities. Kitchen had everything we needed. No gas grill but two charcoal grills worked fine. The hot tub wasn’t working but one call and it was repaired quickly. The only thing we wished for was a small table for card and board games. Would love to come back in winter.

The property was ideal for our reunion, and Best of Canaan (local management company) was FANTASTIC to work with! Perfect house for large group

Perfect Home and Location

Stayed at Cedar Greek over New Years... location literally 10 yards from the slope was, of course, extremely convenient. 7 bedrooms with each one having their own attached bathroom - nice! The house was wicked clean... seemed like new furniture and carpeting throughout... plenty of pots / pans / cooking utensils / plates / wine glasses / etc. Very apparent that the owners take a great pride and really put the effort into this vacay home to make it comfy for renters... much appreciated! 5 stars across the board... we've been coming to Timberline off and on for 20 years and this home by far the nicest we have rented. A shout out to Best of Canaan as well... first time we used this management company and they've been the best team we have encountered 🙂

August 2013 long weekend
The cabin was wonderful. The layout and furnishings were very nice. The photo online of the media room was quiet different than the actual property - room was much smaller than expected. Overall, it was a very nice experience. The only negatives I would mention are due to this being the 5th year we have rented a location for our gathering from Tennessee to Pennsylvania and this is the first time we have encountered these missing items: There was only one extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and no spares in the powder room. We did not anticipate purchasing this. There was also only one half-roll of paper towels. There were no large garbage bags or a lid on the garbage can. These are all items that were provided in the previous locations. And the lack of spare towels for the bathrooms was surprising. I did not anticipate having to do laundry repeatedly throughout the weekend.
Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your stay at Cedar Creek. We are always happy to hear from rental guests. Cedar Creek is a lovely home and a perfect spot for gathering family and friends in a comfortable setting with private bedrooms and bathrooms. Each bathroom is stocked with 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 4 washcloths and 2 hot tub towels. It is our hope that will be a sufficient supply for the if not isn't it extremely convenient to have 2 laundry centers in the house? As stated in our rental agreement, we provide a starter supply of soaps, toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags. We apologize if you felt that ample supplies were not provided. We invite all of our guests to phone our office if you feel that things are not as they should be. Our office is open 7 days a renter input, comments and questions are always welcome. We hope you will visit again.

Our Sixth Year At Cedar Creek

This was our sixth year at Winterset 35 and each stay has been a great experience. Just a few comments regarding our ratings above: Property general condition: they have replaced the great room furniture once since we've been staying there but it's getting close to needing replacement again as is some of the other furniture including the pool table which needs to be refurbished or replaced. Cleanliness is pretty good but the bathrooms in the basement bedrooms were not properly cleaned (toothpaste in sink and on mirror and numerous hair in one of the showers). It was nice having another refrigerator in the basement. We've booked it for next year and already looking forward to it. Great working with the staff at Best of Canaan!

They Owners and Property Managment company always seem to do their best to make sure that everything is in order and ready when we get there and check in and check out were a breeze. This is our first year with "Best of Canaan" but it was great and I'm sure it will stay that way.

Shower stalls
We had a great time and have rented this cottage for several years. The cottage bathrooms do not appear to be cleaned thoroughly as there was hair in the shower stalls and on the bathroom floors. That would lead me to wonder if the carpets are vacuumed. Also, there was an issue with the gril not properly working and shelving to the grill was broken or missing. Otherwise, it was perfect. We have booked this for next year, as it is a great size for our family and the Larraine (rental agent) is the BEST!
