This beautiful mountain home offers 6 comfortable and private bedrooms in Northface's "let's go skiing" neighborhood. It is a short walk to Timberline Mountain's Salamander Trail. You won't move the car all weekend because it is all right here. Family Tradition offers a fully equipped kitchen and a sizable dining room for friends and family to gather. Lots of windows and a generous deck provide scenic views in every season. It doesn't have to be winter to enjoy this well though out rental home. It is a short drive to Canaan Resort, Blackwater Falls and the treasured mountain towns Davis and Thomas. Shop the shops, visit the breweries, maybe grab a pizza and then head back to Family Tradition for a game of pool or a relaxing soak in the outdoor hot tub. In every season, Family Tradition is the perfect spot for family and friends to gather. Winter visits will require 4-wheel drive vehicles with very good winter tires.

Our family of 12 really enjoys FT. It has a great layout, nicely appointed and a big enough kitchen and dining area for all of us to be together for meals in the evenings. Love the new hot tub!

Great family vacation experience

Wonderful Home

We love this home. It's very spacious. We only have one complaint which really can't be helped, we always have to dig out more parking spaces when we arrive.
We are happy to hear you love Family Tradition. Yes, you are right the snow was uncontrollable this winter with limited space to push it out of the way. We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again.

Great house for large group - ski in/ski out

We were a group of 12, mix of parents and teens. Good space for all. Kids commandeered the basement and it kept the noise contained. But, also big space options to gather for games and meals.
Essentially ski in/ski out, and easy walk to the lodge for non-skiers to meet up.

Large property and fantastic location
Nice property for large family. Plenty of room to spread out. Very close to ski slopes. Bring your own blankets and hangers, as there were very few. Internet speeds not sufficient to do anything more than some slow emails - it was great for our adults who wanted to disconnect but disappointing for our younger folks.
Thank you for your review on Family Tradition. We will make sure to let the owners know about the need for hangers and blankets. Sorry about the internet being in a rural area when we have a lot of visitors in the area it can tend to slow down.

Family Ski Trip

Our trip was perfect! The house was clean, comfortable and accommodated our group perfectly. A few days into our stay, we had a slight problem with the hot tub. A simple phone call was made and the problem was solved within an hour! Excellent response and customer service. Parking was a little tight but we were able to park extra vehicles at the Best of Canaan office.

Great stay and location

Enjoyed our stay, the home is well maintained and clean. Very close to Salamander, it is an ideal location! Best of Canaan was great, it was an easy check-in/check-out process.

Nice stay for a group close to Salamander
Our party of 12 had a great stay at Family Tradition. Location is across the street from the Salamander green slope. You do have to walk between houses and climb up the side of the slope to get on it. House has several living spaces which is nice for a larger group. An upgrade to smart TVs would be nice so guests could use streaming services. Also one key for a house that sleeps 12 is unreasonable - there should be a door code for guest use. Overall a great stay.

Family tradition

The vacation place was beautiful but did have a few issues. some of the window crank handles were broken, some of the window blinds were broken, the living room coffee table had broken legs and were at a point that if the table had been bumped into it would have fallen over, the clothes dryer would not heat up to dry clothes, there was a broken chair that was from the dining room table, the screen door for the sliding door in the dining room was broken and would not close, the microwave oven had to be exchanged out because it was broken. (All of these things were reported to the maintanance dept and the man who came to fix some of the issues was great!
Beyond these problems, the place overall was very nice and I would still visit this place again. Canann Valley is a beautiful place and is well worth seeing and the rental property was so well cleaned that I left a nice tip for the person who was responsible for the cleaning.

Ski Heaven

We very much enjoyed Family Tradition as it has been a tradition in our family to come to Timberline every year. This was the first time we stayed here and enjoyed the house and its proximity to Salamander.

Great house
The house was great! The small appliances toaster,hand mixer and blender did not work. Everything else was great. Hauled the garbage to where the instructions on the refrigerator indicated only to find out that was the correct location.
