Daisy's Den Family Reunion
Used this cabin for a visit with 4 grandchildren, daughter in law and daughter and it worked for everyone. The grandchildren enjoyed the games in our down time and the adults enjoyed the easy access to Dolly Sods and closeness to Canaan Valley Resort and Blackwater Falls. Manager was very responsive when we had a problem with the thermostat and very helpful in scheduling trash pick ups through out our long stay.

Sunny Days At Daisy's Den

Fantastic vacation and weather! We love the house -- have come again and again. So much to do outside and inside -- foos ball, pinball, shuffleboard, and PacMan! Highly recommend Best of Canaan's staff (they are the BEST) and Daisy's Den!

Spring break retreat
Our stay was excellent. The house is well stocked, was clean and very nice. Our family also really enjoyed the ski in/ski out aspect that this house has to offer. When not skiing, the house is stocked with games, puzzles in addition to the tv and video games in the house.

Lots of fun...but

This was a great choice for my husband, our 7 children, and me. Shuffle board was a huge hit along with all the other arcade games. Skiing in and out was very easy. The kids also enjoyed the hot tub. Everything was clean and plenty of cooking utensils and even some spices were available.
Now, on to the negative. The condition of the mattress in the master bedroom was horrible. It looks like a 500 lb black bear sleeps on one side of it. I kid you not. It was a task just to keep from rolling out of it in my sleep. The second night I took a large spare pillow and shoved it under the mattress to try to even it out. It helped.
I expect the kid mattresses to be ******. I do not expect the master bedroom mattress to be in such poor shape. These are the people who pay for the rental. You should want them to get the best rest possible.

Amazing Ski Trip

Had an absolute blast with our family at the cabin for the weekend. Snuck in right before some snow moved in and it was perfect being right on the mountain for the snow. Kids loved the stay and had a great time learning to ski as well as their bunk bed room to sleep in. Hoping to come again in the future! For anyone looking- it is at the TOP of the mountain so I would recommend 4WD. AWD and all-season tires did not cut it.

Family Ski
We had a wonderful ski experience. The location is fantastic. The dog hair was troublesome as some of us are allergic to dogs. My fault for not checking ahead of time. Because of that we will not be able to return. We are sorry for that because otherwise it was perfect.

Great Stay!
Daisys Den was perfect for our family ski trip. Directly on the slopes. HOWEVER, if you don't have an amazing 4x4 with great tires and/or chains it probably isn't the best choice. There is VERY steep road to that property that pretty much is packed ice/snow and it really doesn't get plowed. We couldn't make it to the house with our 4x4 new Ford Expedition. But I guess if you have the right vehicle you'll be fine. But the home was amazing and perfect for us otherwise.

Time away in WV

We spent a pleasant 4 night stay at Daisy's Den. This was a family (extended) break for us which including our dog Jackson. We came with expectations of hiking, biking, and cooler weather and Daisy's Den didn't disappoint.
The accommodations were spacious, clean and welcoming to our little clan. Access to Dolly Sods was approximately .65 miles up the hill and once there we could hike to our hearts content. Blueberries were in season and very tasty surprise we all enjoyed.
Everyone we dealt with at the rental office and neighborhood was pleasant and welcoming. Its a place we would definitely like to revisit.

Pet friendly modern Mountain retreat

We enjoyed our stay at this thoughtfully appointed, comfortable home filled with arcade games, a back deck and hot tub, a deluxe foosball table, games and modern accommodations. The reasonably complete kitchen came equipped with a wine cooler and decent appliances; beds were comfortable; the modern fixtures and window treatments functioned well. The hardwood floors helped our allergy sufferers and pets stay together. Only issue was that the place was not particularly clean; the refrigerator had dirty condensation coils and was not functioning properly.
Sounds like you had a great time at Daisy's Den. Looking forward to your return!

Spring at Daisy's Den

What a comfortable, clean home with lots of fun to be had inside with pinball, shuffleboard, fooz ball, Ms. Pacman and outside with incredible weather, spring flowers and such beautiful hikes. Hope to stay here again and again!

Wonderful!

We very much enjoyed a spring ski trip with an unexpected 6-8” snowfall the day before we arrived! Ski in ski out was wonderful. Everything in the home was great. The House was up a steep section of road - my guest had to get chains for front tires of his front wheel drive car to get up there as the gravel road was covered in snowpack. Once it partially melted and some gravel patches showed up it was fine. So four wheel drive or snow chains needed if road is covered in snow. Our only complaint is they didn’t remove as much snow off the deck as they should have so you could safely use hot tub and grill - there was a shovel there and we did it ourselves -as we used hot tub first afternoon there and every day of our stay! When we had questions Best of Canaan was always available to answer them! Would stay here again and use Best of Canaan managed properties.

Great Ski in Ski out!

If you are looking for a great ski in/ski out, you will not be disappointed with Daisy's Den! Great kitchen if you like to cook, very comfortable beds and lots of recent upgrades to the house (floors & bathrooms). The hot tub was clean as was the house. We loved the separate heated ski room to leave and dry your gear at the end of the day! We hope to make this our go to at Timberline when it's available!

Great house in great location

Family Fun Christmas at Canaan

My mom and I stayed at Daisy’s Den so we could watch all of the grandkids ski. It was fun watching them all gather and prepare to ski too! We also made use of the bunk beds by allowing four of the grandkids to stay with us each night. Four boys loves playing goose ball and all the other games. Four little girls made teddy bears and played games too. The four older girls made friendship bracelets and had popcorn and movie night. It was a wonderful way to spend Christmas with all of the family yet not on top of each other! The cabin was spectacular on every level...the only downside was the icy, slick driveway!

Daisy's Den worked great for our fall getaway

We spent a great weekend at Daisy's Den this fall. Although we had rainy days, there was plenty to do in the house. Lots of fun games, including old arcade games from the past that make for fun contests with family and friends. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials along with items you can't always be sure you will always find at a vacation home, such as a blender, crock pot and big pots to cook for a big group.
It's great to be right on the slopes, even when it's not ski season, as there's a ready made trail to walk and enjoy the scenery. Great places to walk your dog from this pet friendly location.
If you are coming in the winter, be sure your car has 4 wheel drive or chains, as the last bit of road to the house is very steep and could be a little harder to get to in the winter.
All in all a great spot for a fun long weekend.

Great Family Vacation Home

We had a great late-July stay at Daisy's Den with our adult children. We really did use all the amenities: foosball table, PacMan video game, hot tub, grill, garage for bikes, etc. The Salamander Trail location was ideal for evening hikes with plenty of deer sitings and photos. With the help of a friendly neighbor, we were able to find an unmarked trail leading to the Dolly Sods Wilderness area.
The website caution about the steep gravel access road is no joke, even during the summer. We were initially unable to reach the cabin in our fully loaded front-wheel drive SUV. I had to reverse up the hill in order to gain enough traction. Subsequent trips up the hill with an unloaded vehicle were much easier.
If you are new to Canaan Valley, you should know that area gets plenty of rain during the summer. The weather app on your phone leans towards the pessimistic side, so it's best to ignore it and get outside when the weather allows. Local mountain bike riding were more limited than I hoped due to the muddy trails, but I didn't mind because the hiking was fantastic.

West Virginia getaway
Enjoyed our stay. Kitchen was very nicely equipped for cooking. Hot tub was wonderful after hiking. Bunk beds were not very comfortable for our grown son but overall our stay was very pleasant.

Very nice and clean rental home with everything you need. We were happy with our location. Lots of trails to walk in the summer. If you have a chance go vist the Dolly Sods, Seneca Rock, Blackwater Falls. Would stay again.

Nice Cabin and Area
The cabin was very nice and plenty of room for 7 people. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. A carry out and grocery store was a short drive away. Blackwater Falls was close and was really worth the visit.

Great location, packed with stuff you need
Great slopeside location. We enjoyed the hot tub and the kitchen and bedrooms were stocked well with dishes, blankets, etc. Kids loved the games. The road was tricky until the plow came through even with 4 wheel drive. Clean except where the bean bags were you could tell they hadn't moved them to sweep floor. We'd definitely stay again!

Perfect week on Salamander

We spent a wonderful week in Daisy's Den at the end of January. Everything was perfect. Just a few steps and you are on a slope. If you want to maximize your ski time, this is superb. I would definitely recommend it.
