Enjoy the sights and sounds of nature with an onsite pond and large yard. It is true, deer frolic here! Birdwatching should be terrific from the spacious deck, so don’t forget your binoculars. Peace in the Valley offers a wonderful location for biking, hiking, and fishing, plus a garage to store your gear in. Tucked just inside of the quiet community of Old Timberline, it is quick drive to the slopes at Timberline Mountain, the tube park at Canaan Resort and the sled run at Blackwater Falls. Fantastic Location
Have stayed here before. Great location. Loved all the deer in the yard. Great Grandaughter loved the huge windows to watch deer. Had a couple skunks come at night. Needs upgrading. Especially kitchen appliances. Stove has only 2 small burners that work. Hard to cook on for 5 people.

Our fall trip

We enjoyed our stay at Peace in the Valley with our 19 month old granddaughter (she had a great time) playing in the fallen leaves, and walking the trail to the Spruce Island Lake. The WiFi wasn’t the best but we made due with it. The rental house needs a little updating, but all in all we were fine with everything. As always, Best of Canaan is great, and they are our go to rental choice.

Nature at its best.
Stayed here last year and was disappointed by appliances. Fabulous location. My daughter and myself decided to try again and were pleasantly surprised. The stove and oven are ancient but can be used. All other appliances worked well. Had deer and 8 skunks (yes 8) daily and nightly. The view couldn’t have been any better. So relaxing. Thank you for sharing
