VET hunt 2024

We have been coming to Canaan, for skiing over 50 years, for hunting over 40 years, and its become a top favorite. We've enjoyed many houses but we've settled on Timberstone as our fav. We'll be back in 2025.

Timberstone needs new gas grill!

Great trip. Timberstone desperately needs new gas grill. The grill has been bad for years and i mention this every year during my review. That is the only thing bad about this property. Owner needs to spend $200 and get new grill so the experience is not ruined. I packed a portable blackstone griddle just in case this was not replaced.

Not worth the price increase.

1- the TV remotes missing in 3 bedrooms and batteries dead in 2 remotes so we had to replace them
2- Floor dirty with dust bunnies, dirty sock, chips, dog bone
3- cobwebs all over ceiling and ceiling fan
4- drawers broken/missing knobs
5- entrance platform rotten
6- ductwork needs cleaning / filthy
7- mouse trap in water heater closet stunk awful so I put the trap on the deck
8- light bulbs out and no replacements so we had to go purchase some
Very disappointed this year since the price went up ~25%. This is our 4th year staying in this unit and most likely our last.

Great stay, we appreciated it

I enjoyed my stay with my family at this cabin. It was well equipped with plenty of space and a nice hot tub. Close to slopes! The only recommendation would be an update of the mattresses as we found them to be too firm. We would also recommend dialing back the heat it was quite hot at night.

Ideal House for a Family 0F 9

Pleasantly surprised at how perfectly the house fit our family. It has a large kitchen and was the best equipped one we have ever hade up there (we come every year). Loved that the 4 bedrooms were of equal size, each with its own bathroom.

Great Holiday Getaway With Family

The 4 bedroom & bath was great for my adult kids. The large open area allowed us to hang together and enjoy games, TV & conversation. I love the Canaan Valley Refuge so hiking was the best!

My family has been enjoying the Fall colors in Canaan Valley for years. What a great experience this year at an awesome cabin in a great location. We saw deer, turkey, and even a red fox.
