Wow! This really is Timber VIEW!! Yes, with an emphasis on view. In winter, this lovely contemporary home is a skier's dream. It is a short walk to and from Timberline Mountain's Twister and Winterset trails. Weary skiers are sure to appreciate the outdoor hot tub. Spring, summer and fall visitors will enjoy wonderful views and easy access to Blackwater Falls, Canaan Resort, Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge and more. The generous loft provides room for puzzling or game playing. With two living rooms, there is plenty of space to separate the teens, tweens, and adults. Timber View might just become your go-to when planning some mountain time in Canaan Valley. Four-wheel drive vehicles are definitely required for winter access.

Great view

The rental was very beautiful and had everything needed for a great vacation. We had 2 issues while vacationing, a tripped breaker leaving the entire upstairs without power and then the following day we lost all hot water. I will say that someone was sent within minutes to resolve the issues which was very satisfying and appreciated. Other than these 2 small issues it was a great vacation.

Great stay at Timber View

I and four friends stayed for a long weekend at Timber View to do some mountain biking around the area. The location of the rental is perfect...central to a number of great mountain biking trail systems and very close to Davis and Thomas. With six bedrooms there was plenty of space, and then some, for all of us. The kitchen was well appointed and all of the appliances were in good working order (save for the dishwasher, but more on that later). We were happy to see the addition of a Keurig coffee maker in place of the espresso machine pictured in the listing. We appreciated the ample supply of firewood for the fire pit, and the views from the back of the house are amazing!
We did have some suggestions that could make staying at Timber View a bit better. First off, the mini split HVAC units in the upstairs were confusing. There was only one remote for the three units, and we assumed there would be a remote for each. So getting the temperatures set correctly in each room was somewhat of a challenge. Some of the furniture in the main living room was a bit worn (the chairs mainly) and a tad uncomfortable, but not terrible. A few ottomans or footrests would be nice, too. There were also some issues getting the dishwasher to work. Some detailed instruction on some of the appliances (other than the Rokus, for which there were very detailed info sheets) would be beneficial. Lastly, We've stayed at similar rentals that use keyless entry, which we find much easier than managing one or two sets of keys among large groups who may be striking off in different directions during the day. But we made it work.
Overall, it was a great weekend and we highly recommend Timber View. We'll certainly be back!

Fantastic Home/Vacation

We were so very pleased with the house and all of the contents during our eight days stay. The house itself was very well equipped with most everything you could think of. I loved the three floors because you never got under each other's feet and everyone had their own space! The air conditioning was amazing and almost too cold at times, but I wasn't complaining As we came from Tennessee and Arkansas. We had plenty of room for family gatherings The fire pit was fabulous. The only negative thing I could say is you could hear everybody upstairs talking if you were on the main floor (this floors). We will definitely attempt to have this house again next year because it was wonderful.

Annual Couples Trip

We have 5 couples that get together once a year for a nice relaxing weekend. This was our third year staying in Timberview. It fits our crew well. The views are amazing.
The only thing negative about the place is that it definitely needs a deep cleaning. It would be nice if they updated the livingroom furniture and the upstairs mattresses.
But overall it's an amazing house. Stocked very well in the kitchen.

2 family vacation

I was very disappointed in the condition of the house
There were many dead flies & lady bugs lying all over the house. The window sills were full of them and they were on the floors. We could not take our shoes off I had to sweep them up as best as I could We did not have hot water!! The maintenance man did come really fast but showed us how to keep fixing the problem by leaving a private closet open for us. This is an ongoing problem This house has the potential to be really nice but it has a lot of worn out furniture. Our trip was a great one but this was a first for us to experience a problematic house with Best of Canaan

Great location, could be cleaner
This was the second time we've stayed at Timberview. The location is great with a short walk to the slopes and easy access from mid-station. The gathering space for a large group is great and the kitchen functional with two ovens. The main downsides to the house are the noise and the cleanliness. The floors between levels have no insulation, so you hear every footstep, conversation, and movement of the person above you. Adding an additional rug to the upstairs bedroom would be helpful. The house was a little more clean this year, but still frustrating to find a tip envelope for the cleaning staff on a credenza full of dust and crumbs!

Great Location

This was our second year renting this house for the same weekend. The rental agency was responsive to problems we encountered. The location is fabulous. The many ensuite bathrooms is a great design. I would stay here again if the hot tub was larger and in a different location. It's ideal for 2 adults or small kids and is tucked into an enclosure. For skiers who wish to visit and tell stories after a long day, it's too remote from the living spaces (hint- can't supervise chidren) and too small for 4 or more adults to enjoy cocktails.

Fantastic Views!

A great ski cabin within a short walk to the mid-mountain lift at Timberline. The views of Canaan Valley are incredible from the deck and patio. Minor touches/improvements and attention to details (remote controls w/ dead batteries, ceiling fan broken, updated and thorough instructions, etc.) could really turn this place into something special. AWD-4WD definitely needed in winter or bad weather but you are rewarded with the view.

Beautiful house but missing some items

The house is beautiful and the rooms are great, we really liked that they had video games set up in the basement. A few minor complaints include the lack of trash bags, no firewood like the listing photos showed and the dishwasher was in bad need of repair. Overall it was a great stay and I want to come back when it is ski season

Nice view
this home was clean and in a good location. there was plenty of space for everyone to have a place to gather. the outdoor patio on the bottom level is very nice and spacious. Some of the mattresses on the beds could certainly be relplaced, but some were comfy. One burner on teh grill did not work. the hot tub was great. The only reason I would not recommend this property is because it is noisy. I don;'t mean traffic or outside noise, I mean inside noise. Everything is wooden. Large wooden doors, large wooden steps, wood floors and they all creak and bang. Two bedrooms are right below the kitchen dining room area. those sleeping in these rooms hear every chair scooting, every cabinet door opening and every step taken on the floor. the top stairs going to the upper level creak like in a haunted house. No matter how much you try to tiptoe. WE were sleeping in the room below my mother. She walks with a cane. When she got up in the night to go to the bathroom is sounded like someone was pounding a hammer above our room. If you have a group and they all plan to go to bed at the same time and awaken at the same time, or they are heavy sleepers then yu won't have any issues with this house.

Perfect Getaway
The house was a perfect setup for our trip. It was well maintained and cleaned. I would recommend that HVAC is unlocked on the lower level since we could only adjust the thermostat on main living level, the downstairs was a chilly 64 degrees. The kitchen appliances were very nice, I would recommend the kitchen be better organized to find like items and ensure that you have the right cookware for large groups.

2021 Timberline Fam Vacation

We could not have had a better time. The rental was exceptional. It was clean and very well stocked with all amenities. Kitchen had everything that you needed and was supplied with quality utensils, pots, etc. We were also impressed with Timberline Mountain. Even though the weather was warmer than normal Timberline had the slopes in great condition for our skiers. Timberline is really a hidden gem.... Hope to visit again!!!

Great
This is the second time we stayed here and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The house is spacious, clean, and well partitioned to accommodate a multi generational large family like ours or allow for multiple families to live together. One of the larger tables out there - this is the thing that frustrates us everywhere else. This one can actually accommodate all of us. The slopes are about 200 feet away, a 2 minute hike. We will return.

Great view...

This house has plenty of space for a large group. We had 8, with teenagers and a preschooler, and had room to spread out! The sunset views from the house were amazing, and we enjoyed watching the wildlife! A fawn was born in front of the deck while we were there. Overall, the house is nicely furnished with comfortable beds, lots of towels and blankets, and plenty of kitchen stuff. What was sketchy was the TV and internet. It was being addressed while we were there, but we did go the week without sufficient wifi that 4 of us were dependent to work on. However, the rental company did try their best to make it right with us. Generally, the house was clean and ready for us, but there were a few minor maintenance things in the house that it seems could easily be addressed (including the dishwasher). The grass was high making the fire pit unusable when we arrived. We called, and again, the staff got the issue addressed. Then, we could enjoy the fire pit area and roast marshmallows. We used the hot tub one time, and it was clean and functioning well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful Week at Timber View

This house was very clean and well stocked with firewood when we arrived. The views from Timber View is really breathtaking and the house is very comfortable for either a large family or 3 or 4 couples. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out with two separate living rooms. The outdoor space was really nice and the fire pit was a lot of fun during the cool mountain evenings.
