With a plethora of winter activities in Canaan Valley available to folks from all walks of life, now is the time to book your stay with us in one of our luxurious homes or cozy mountain cabins.

You may have heard the news that Timberline Ski Resort was recently purchased by Perfect North Slopes, a family-owned company that runs a highly-rated, 100-acre ski resort in Indiana. The news is making its rounds to the joy of visitors and locals alike, and Timberline is expected to reopen under its new management for the 2020-2021 winter season.

But don’t worry—with unrivaled snowsports, live music, and that unmistakable mountain town culture, there are plenty of winter activities in Canaan Valley to keep you busy this winter season!

Go to the Snow

You don’t need to wait for Timberline to reopen to take full advantage of winter in the mountains! With two ski resorts, a sled park and other snowy activities, there’s no doubt that your thirst for winter fun can be quenched in Canaan (and at one of our award-winning local craft breweries). There’s no better way to experience winter in the valley than in one of our remarkable rentals.

Canaan Valley State Park Resort

The ski area at Canaan Valley State Park Resort, projected to open December 13 (with early-season only $13 lift tickets!), is ready to go for the 2019-2020 winter season with a slew of upgrades to everyone’s favorite winter state park resort.  Eighteen new snow guns and upgraded water pumps means the resort will be able to open more terrain earlier and keep it open later into the season. The parking lot is now fully paved and features an additional 75-100 parking spots for those peak winter weekends. The resort also added a new ticketing window at the opposite end of the parking lot to shorten lines.  Canaan has also added new snowboarding gear to its rental fleet.
